Mission Statement
The organization was founded primarily to unify underrepresented students in the WMU College of Aviation, and provide a solid support system for incoming and current students. Although supporting students is essential, MAAP is also involved in community outreach. We recognize the importance of exposing youth to career opportunities in the field of aviation. Plans are underway now for MAAP to become a bridge for high school students entering the college arena.
About Us
Multicultural Association of Aviation Professionals (MAAP) is a non-profit student managed organization. Our purpose is to enhance, promote, and educate the multicultural aviation community at Western Michigan University. Our goal is to develop a strong support system between the educational environment and the professional environment in the field of aviation. We also feel that it is our duty to mentor the youth in the local communities, so that their potential can be reached to the fullest.
MAAP is the newest organization in Western Michigan
University’s College of Aviation. We are student-founded and
student-run. Our membership body is comprised of men and women majoring
in; Aviation Flight Science, Aviation Administration, and Aviation
Maintenance Technology, although anyone who is interested in furthering
MAAP’s initiatives is welcome to join.
