Your Registered Student Organization (RSO) account is a "BroncoNet ID". The same account name and password is used for email, web, and file storage access. The RSO account is to be used only by individuals designated by RSO officers to conduct the business of the RSO. RSO members must comply with the following policies.
WMU
Rules For Use of Computing Resources
WMU World
Wide Web Publishing Rules
All references to "You" in the above policies refer to the individual using the RSO account to conduct the business of the Registered Student Organization.
Creating an RSO BroncoNet ID Account
The president of your RSO can request a BroncoNet ID account for your organization through the Student Organization Administratrion Program (SOAP).
When choosing a web site directory make sure to think of a name which uniquely identifies your web site and assists in marketing your site. For example, the Underwater Basket Weavers of WMU would receive an account of rso_ubw. Their web site directory could be weavers, making the URL to their web site <www.rso.wmich.edu/weavers/>.
SALP will supply you with a username and password. It is highly recommended to change this password.
If you know the existing password, you can change your password here.
You will be asked for your username and your old password. Then, choose a new password that you can easily remember but which cannot be guessed by anyone who knows you. It must be 6-8 characters long and must contain at least two of the following: uppercase characters (A-Z), lowercase characters (a-z), numbers (0-9), or punctuation characters. Do not use single words from a dictionary.
If you do not know the password to your RSO's BroncoNet ID, your president can request a password reset through SOAP.
All RSO accounts, which have not registered by October 1 of the current academic year, will be disabled. All stored emails, web pages, and files will remain on the server, however, no new email messages will be received, no web pages will be viewable from the internet and the files will not be accessible.
All RSO accounts that have been disabled for over 1 year will be deleted, as will stored emails, web pages, and files.
All RSO accounts created prior to August 1 expire October 1 of same year and all RSO accounts created after August 1 expire October 1 of next year. Example, an account that is created July 30 will need to register again between August 1 and October 1 of the same year to prevent the account from being disabled.
