2011 RSO Leadership Conference Call for Programs

August 19-20, 2011

The RSO Leadership Conference endeavors to provide Registered Student Organizations and leaders of RSOs the environment and tools necessary to succeed in the year ahead. The theme for our second annual conference is "It Starts With Us," which issues a call to action for students to think creatively, collaboratively, and to learn new skills that will help take their RSO and campus community to the next level.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Participants will reflect upon their personal leadership style and identify challenges and opportunities within their organization.
  2. Participants will be able to build relationships that provide potential for collaboration, enhanced sense of connection to the university, and an understanding of the resources available to them on campus.
  3. Participants will think critically, creatively, and broadly about goals for the coming year, generate and apply potential solutions to problems, and evaluate opportunities for growth and improved efficiency.

Suggested Program Topics:

Time management, leadership styles, financial management, conflict resolution, coaching/mentoring, effective meetings, diversity, servant leadership, communication, values integration, life balance.

*All programs should be 45-60 minutes in length.
