Sponsorship Program

The collegiate chapters of the American Marketing Association (AMA) started in 1948 and the Western Michigan University chapter was installed in the 1960’s. The mission of the American Marketing Association at Western Michigan University is: “The Marketing Association of Western Michigan University is a professional student organization whose purpose is to extend students’ understanding and interest in all facets of the marketing function beyond that of academic experience by providing professional, social, and service activities for our members and the community.”

As stated in the mission statement above, the AMA focuses on providing students with a professional experience outside of academia. One professional experience our chapter provides its members with is through the annual American Marketing Association Case Competition. We have competed the past 7 years, and for the fifth time we have placed in the top 8 in the nation. We strive to align ourselves with today’s most successful businesses and progress from students to young professionals. Today, we are looking to form new partnerships with credible and successful businesses such as yours to help sponsor our nationally ranked Case Competition team compete at the International AMA conference. This will enable students of marketing to better prepare themselves for positions in fast-paced, real world of marketing.

We look to professional corporations like yours for mentorship and opportunity, and in return we strive to be an asset to your company by providing several benefits. However you choose to support the chapter, you will be embarking on a partnership with nationally ranked AMA Case Team that will allow you to:

  • strengthen your organization’s reputation and brand recognition
  • increase your advertising opportunities at WMU’s campus of over 30,000 students

For a minimal sponsorship fee of $300, the AMA will provide the following benefits:

  • An opportunity to promote and reinforce your reputation in front 30,000 WMU students
  • Get your name out to the WMU community and get a constant stream of business from AMA
  • Committed AMA students who will attend sponsored events and are receptive to your message
  • Your company logo on the AMA webpage, which is viewed by hundreds of potential recruits and members
  • Your company logo on AMA flyers throughout the Haworth College of Business in front of over 5,000 students
  • Company logo on t-shirts designed for the AMA Case Team to be worn at the International Collegiate Conference with over 1,000 students in attendance
  • Company logo on all other t-shirts worn by AMA members at WMU events as well as all other display cases and boards related to our chapter
  • Professional and recruitment events with the WMU chapter, and all event logistics taken care of by the AMA

Western Michigan University Corporate Sponsorship Program

The benefits of the American Marketing Association – Corporate Sponsorship Program include:

  • Company logo on American Marketing Association Case Competition team t-shirts; which will be worn at the international collegiate conference with over 1,000 marketing students in attendance
  • An opportunity to organize a professional event with all American Marketing Association chapter members; professional events are advertised with the use of flyers, e-mails, and the Western Herald Newspaper “Glances” section
  • All logistics of a professional event will be taken care of by AMA members
  • Any promotional materials (flyers) of a professional event will feature your company logo
  • Recognition in Case Competition team press releases as an official sponsor of the Case Competition team; press releases are sent to hometown newspapers of case team members and to the WMU Office of University Relations
  • Company logo on AMA|WMU webpage, which is viewed by hundreds of marketing students at WMU
  • One resume book of all AMA|WMU chapter members
